For more than 21 years, Dr. Robert Thomas Leonard, Jr., Founder and Chief Surgeon of Leonard Hair Transplant Associates, has provided the latest technology in hair restoration surgery and non-surgical hair loss treatments in New England. Dr. Leonard has offices in Boston, Newton, Braintree, Worcester, and Hyannis, Massachusetts and Cranston and Middletown, Rhode Island.
Dr. Robert Leonard completed his B.A. at the University of New Hampshire and went on to the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine to earn his medical degree. Dr. Leonard interned in Florida and completed his residency in Ohio. Next, Dr. Leonard completed a preceptorship in hair transplant surgery under the late Dr. C. P. Chambers at the Chambers Hair Institute facilities throughout the United States. It was there that Dr. Leonard developed his hair restoration surgical skills and knowledge about hair loss treatment. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Leonard established his private practice as a hair restoration specialist in Providence, Rhode Island. Early in his career, he became the Founding Secretary of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and has been involved with several hair restoration and general medical organizations and associations. Dr. Leonard has served on a number of administrative boards, including Secretary of the State of Rhode Island Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline.

Dr. Leonard has been an early advocate Low Level Laser Light Hair Therapy and has been treating his patients with it for the past several years.
An avid traveler, Dr. Leonard enjoys visiting the cities and countries throughout the world where he lectures on hair loss treatments and hair restoration procedures.
