RE: Advanced Hair Solutions Follow-up Study Results
Dear Dr. Maricle:
Thank you for forwarding the results of your follow-up study on clients in the Laser Hair Therapy Program. As I have mentioned previously, I am not aware of any data (published or non-published) on client/patient perceptions of the use of Laser Therapy for hair loss prior to your study.
While I am not a statistician, I was impressed with the positive responses received from the 254 respondents that were surveyed at Advanced Hair Solutions clinics.
I was glad to hear that 76.84% your clients perceived their hair to look better as a result of their participation in the Laser Hair Therapy Program. I was particularly impressed with the percentages of men and women who noted that their hair was appearing thicker (65.89%), fuller (65.66%), shinier (54.54%) and healthier (71.1%) after participating in the Laser Hair Therapy Program. As we discussed, self-noted improvement on a placebo is commonly around 30-40%. On a personal note, I am interested to see what effect (if any) removing the data from the minoxidil-treated clients has on the results of the overall study.
I would like to once again congratulate you on gathering this much-needed data from the clients you have been treating and the rave reviews you've obtained.
I believe these results certainly support the
claim that your program makes to its clients. Again, while
I am satisfied with the data you have collected, I would
suggest that you have your data reviewed by a statistician.
I am looking
forward to the results of the more rigorous scientific
hair growth studies you are preparing to undertake.
